Known by some as “Sewer Hill,” the hill on W. Russell St in front of the animal shelter and the wastewater treatment plant in Jefferson is a challenge for most runners. It’s the sort of hill that can make a runner feel like he’s going at a turtle’s pace.
This fellow, a painted turtle 8 or so inches long, lumbered up the hill Tuesday morning. He made it part way up, and then abandoned his run. Over the curb he went, heading for greener slopes, the kind with a down hill grade.
